Project Summary

Assembly

This project involved multiple design iterations, including repeated assembly and disassembly over a six-month competition season. Our robot implemented a pneumatic system to open and close systems, motors for continuous motion, and intense moving systems. Our team continuously addressed mechanical issues, especially during competitions where rapid adjustments were critical. Through this process, I developed hands-on skills in fabrication, mechanical design, and real-time problem solving.

Programming

Controls and Autonomy

With the amount of featurs our robot included for this competition, we needed an elegant way to have one person control the entire robot. I was in charge of programming the robot to perform both driver-controlled and autonomous tasks using VEX robotics software. I collaborated with teammates to test driver controls and went through multiple runs to perfect our autonomous runs.

Documentation

Engineering Notebook

I documented the design and development process using Fusion 360 to create and refine CAD models. I also tracked design changes and testing results, allowing our team to evaluate performance and make informed improvements throughout the competition season
